Rudolf Grimm
Rudolf Grimm is a Professor at the Institute for Experimental Physics at the University of Innsbruck and Research Director at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His research is centred on the few- and many-body physics of ultracold quantum matter under strongly interacting conditions, with special emphasis on systems with tunable interactions and on systems involving fermionic atoms. Current research topics are superfluidity in Fermi gases, few-body quantum states, and the behaviour of quasiparticles in quantum gases. His research achievements included the first realizations of Bose-Einstein condensates of three atom species, the creation of molecular Bose-Einstein condensates and the first experimental observation of Efimov three-body states. Future ESQ postdocs will be given the opportunities to develop a strong research profile in experimental quantum-many body physics with novel atomic species and atomic mixtures.
